“Sumy Machine-Building Science and Production Association”, PJSC and the “Lvovtransgas” department of main gas pipelines, which is a structural subdivision of “Ukrtransgas”, PJSC, have signed a contract for supply, on a turn-key basis, of absorbers package for compressor workshop No.4 of booster compressor station “Bilche-Volytsa”, located at the Bilche-Volytsko-Uherske underground gas storage facility.
Per this contract, “Sumy NPO” needs to manufacture 4 absorbers with valve assemblies, sets of inter-skid valves, electric power equipment, automatic control systems, instrumentation and fire detecting and fighting system.
The agreement also stipulates performance of construction, installation, pre-commissioning works and testing the installed products. Erection of the facility will be performed in a single stage, as a complete start-up complex.
The main reason for modernization of BCS “Bilche-Volytsa” are new requirements, implemented in 2015, to the composition of natural gas transferred via the gas transportation system of Ukraine. Complete satisfaction of these requirements is the purpose of the SNPO products.
“Our suggested absorbers package is quite maneuverable and is capable of adjusting for the specific customer requirements. It is designed for the capacity range of 5 – 20 MNCMPD and the pressure of 3 – 5.5 MPa. Thanks to this complex, the blue-flame gas containing various impurities (water and methanol vapors, dripping liquid, etc.), transported from the compressor workshop No.4 of BCS “Bilche-Volytsa”, will be fully purified. Its quality characteristics will conform with the requirements to natural gas that is to be supplied to main gas pipelines”, – explains Vitalii Sharupa, the Lead Manager of the Department of Sales in Ukraine and the Central Asia of SNPO.
The absorbers package by “Sumy NPO”, PJSC, also guarantees a number of advantages to the customer aimed at reducing the power consumption. Namely, the equipment will ensure the continuity of hydrocarbons treatment process and exclude large pressure drops during their drying. Regenerated di-ethylene-glycol (DEG) will be reutilized, and calculations were performed for the optimal volumetric flow of DEG supplied to the absorbers to reach the required gas dew point. The design of the absorbers utilizes highly effective mass-transferring packing devices, which also increase the power efficiency of the complex. To ensure failure-free operation, reduce losses and emissions into the environment, an automatic control system is provided that controls all the technological processes. The project also includes energy-saving power supply networks.
According to the terms of the contract, Sumy machine-builders need to finish production of the equipment in the beginning of summer, 2017, and commission the facility during the third quarter of that year.
