“Sumy NPO” PJSC has entered the final stage of works on an order for “Urknafta” PJSC, which stipulates the supply of a 16-meters regeneration-evaporation column К-2, that will be used on the Kachanovskiy Refinery in Akhtyrka region.
The product will be shipped to the customer in the nearest time. The equipment will be used for ethylene-glycol separation from water via distillation.
A regeneration-evaporation column is a vertical cylinder with baffles and a reflux condenser on top for the recovery of ethylene-glycol – an organic solution, which, combined with water, has the lowest freezing temperature, compared to solutions based on other glycols. Due to this fact and other properties, ethylene-glycol is widely used in various branches of industry.
The Sumy machine-building collective is used to production projects such as this one. Nevertheless, the machine-builders note that the manufacture of a 16-meters-high column with a number of bubble-cap trays requires great care and a qualified approach.
By the way, the Kachanovskiy Refinery is the most powerful complex in the “Ukrnafta” PJSC in terms of gas intake and treatment. It takes in over 2 billion m3 of blue flame gas annually, which comprises 73% of the total gas production of the company. The main products of the refinery are stripped and liquefied gas, oil and condensate.
