“Sumy Machine-Building Science and Production Association” PJSC signed a contract for the supply of shut-off valves of several modifications for the needs of “Prykarpattransgaz”, management of the main gas pipelines, which is a branch of the State Company Ukrtransgaz. This product is in demand by the customer as part of the reconstruction of the site of the domestic gas pipeline “Dolina – Uzhgorod – State Border”.

In accordance with the terms of the contract, Sumy machine-builders will manufacture 12 items of equipment, 10 of which belong to the number of medium-sized ball valves (with a nominal cross-section of 150, 300 and 500 mm), as well as 2 real “heavyweights”: one – 1200 mm in diameter, 1400 mm. By the way, these samples of shut-off valves are the largest in the product line of the company. To date, Sumy NPO is the only commodity producer in Ukraine, which produces the gas pipeline valves of this nomenclature.

Ball valves, which are specified by the contract, are designed for underground installation. They are designed for a pressure of 80 atm. Eleven of them will be equipped with pneumatic actuators, one with a manual control mechanism. Shipment of equipment is scheduled in the second quarter of 2018.

“This agreement on the supply of valves for the needs of gas transporters from the Carpathian region is not the only one in the practice of our enterprise. In particular, in the first half of this year, the management of main gas pipelines “Prykarpatransgaz” ordered the production of more than 20 units of shut-off valves of various sizes. At the present time, the implementation of this project is coming to an end,” Aleksander Korolyov, the head of the bureau of Sales Division said.

In general, shut-off valves, manufactured by Sumy machine-builders, are in demand in different parts of the country’s gas transport system. According to the contracts with Ukrtransgaz and its branches, by the end of 2017 Sumy NPO should supply more than 500 ball valves with a diameter of 10 to 1400 mm.
According to Aleksander Korolev, there are good prospects for this direction and next year. “Now our specialists are preparing the necessary documentation to participate in seven new tenders for the production of valves, the implementation of which is planned in 2018,” he added.
