“Sumy Machine-Building Science and Production Association” PJSC successfully fulfilled all the requirements for prequalification in The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), which is the largest operator of the gas industry in Egypt. The other day the company officially received the status of an approved supplier in this company.
EGAS is a part of the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources of Egypt. The company is engaged in a wide range of exploration, drilling, natural gas production, its treatment, transportation and distribution in the domestic market, as well as production and sale of liquefied gas.
“Undoubtedly, such a customer is highly interesting to us as a producer. It’s pleasant that Sumy engineers were appreciated in EGAS. Having carefully studied the competence of the association, we were given the opportunity to participate in tenders for the supply of various types of equipment,” Igor Bulygin, the head of Marketing Department said.
It is planned to compete for orders in the new market in the near future. In particular, EGAS has identified major gas infrastructure projects, including the construction of a 175 km pipeline, and the expansion of a number of Egypt’s compressor stations.
“The equipment which is top-requested by EGAS is exclusively our profile. These are turbo-compressor packages, compressor equipment, and pipeline valves. We will apply for all lots and hope for a successful outcome of at least part of the tenders. At the first stage it is important to show yourself, demonstrate your skills directly on the project of a new customer. Experience shows that only after the partner sees the manufacturer in the business, he finally decides whether to develop further cooperation with the newcomer or not,” Bogdan Sumchenko, the senior overseas sales manager added.
Starting from 2013, Sumy NPO has been conducting purposeful work to expand the geography of its own products supply. The hard work associated with the stage-by-stage certification of equipment to meet the world standards of ASME and API, pre-qualification in leading companies of the world, representing significant business interest for the enterprise, pays dividents. Actually, Sumy NPO has already the status of an approved supplier from customers, general contractors and engineering companies from Iran, the USA, France, Germany, Brazil, Canada, Italy, Turkey, Venezuela, Poland, Egypt, UAE, Great Britain, Iraq, etc.
At the same time, Sumy NPO specialists note that it is rather difficult to establish active cooperation with new partners, as they consider Ukraine to be a state with high risks and are not in a hurry to place large orders here.
