As per the contract with Caverion Deutschland GmbH, Business Unit Krantz (Germany), signed at the end of July, “Sumy NPO” PJSC arranged the manufacture of a batch of casings for aerosol iodine filters.
In particular, the contract stipulates the supply of four units of this equipment. They will be used at the South-Ukrainian NPP, where Caverion Deutschland GmbH, Business Unit Krantz company will update the containment filter steam-gas mixture forced venting system responsible for the safety of the nuclear power plant.
This contract is urgent – Sumy machine-builders have to ship the finished products within three months. The first items in line are eights support frames of the main filters included in the scope of supply. Works on them need to be finished within the first decade of September. The rest of the equipment is divided into two consequent tranches – for October and November of the current year.
As stated by Aleksey Marchenko, the Lead Manager of the NPP Equipment Sales Bureau, if this contract is successfully implemented, it can not only be a kick-start to future cooperation with the new customer in the nuclear power industry, but also be followed with a number of other similar contracts.
“Caverion Deutschland GmbH, Business Unit Krantz chose us as a partner by ordering the manufacture of a number of vital aerosol iodine filters’ components. If we complete the project successfully, the German company will be ready for further collaboration with us. Also, equivalent products are in demand on other Ukrainian NPPs”, – notes Mr. Aleksey Marchenko.
