The representatives of the company Caverion Deutschland GmbH, Business Unit Krantz from Germany, placed previously an order for the production of a prototype of an iodine filter chamber at the enterprise, visited “Sumy Machine-Building Science and Production Association” PJSC. The success of this project was a prerequisite for the development of cooperation between Sumy machine builders and a new European partner.

Aleksey Marchenko, the senior manager of  NPP equipment Sales Department, says that the iodine filter chamber is an integral part of the aerosol and iodine filters of the forced filtering system for the vapor-gas mixture from the hermetic shell, task of which is to enhance the safety of nuclear power plants taking into account the impact of emergency situations.

According to Mr. A. Marchenko, the company Caverion Deutschland GmbH, Business Unit Krantz, chosen by the supplier of aerosol and iodine filters at the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant, was interested in finding a subcontractor with extensive experience in domestic nuclear power engineering that could properly perform a certain amount of work on this Project.

Following the visit, Krantz representatives were satisfied with the quality of the work done. Currently, the first contract is concluded, which provides for the production of four units of aerosol-iodine filter housings for two units of the South-Ukraine NPP.
